EINE HALBE KIRCHE BLUMEN by Janus Hochgesand / Exhibition view.

Janus Hochgesand (b. 1981 in Dierdorf, lives and works in Hamburg) refers to his paintings as 'High Intensity Paintings'—works in which form and content are condensed and characterized by a high concentration of layered materials. The paintings are created through a process in which the artist removes generously poured pigments from the canvas using a broom or vacuum cleaner, repeatedly working the surface by adding and subtracting material. In the overlapping layers of color, the artist draws on the aesthetics of Abstract Expressionism and Art Informel, but condenses these influences into his own performative approach to painting.

Script:

Celestial holes rustle and occasionally cluck like a rooster.

Polyethylene parcel was flying by when it was captured
by the gaze of the unknown.

They don’t say their names but they are called Tatiana, Drake,
Sledge and Ana. They all have adhesive tongues to pick locks.
One day the wind of changes brings changes. Ana’s tongue gets
stuck in the hole and she breaks it. She doesn’t earn momentum.
In panic she runs away and loses part of her hairdo.
A flapping wings angel shatters the fence.

Among the crawling stones and rocks of others he swallows the
drink. Unimaginable things happen to him.
Sound of a broken glass.

The INTRO candle can be lit at any point in the story.

Infinity Stick is a mixed media installation exploring expanded storytelling. Combining a scenographic set with a speculative fiction script, it showcases a collection of curiosities in a vitrine.

For MTGAIA, Julia Zastava creates an immersive environment where the ordinary becomes extraordinary. Objects and images are displayed alongside a poem serving as a script. Through fabulation, she challenges expectations, creating suspense and anticipation.

Zastava’s sculptures, often replicas of everyday objects, are reimagined with new meanings, breaking their functional roles. By blurring the line between the familiar and the unknown, she evokes tension and surprise.
