“The Breath of Petals”
Where the soul finds room to inhale the sweetness of existence.

All I wanted was to paint something beautiful.

I originally intended this piece to be calm and neutral, and instead she just ended up more…pink. But she has brought me the joy I was looking for when I started and I’m so happy with how she turned out.

Sometimes all we need is beauty, something soft to lift the soul.

The monsters we face in life aren’t always as dramatic as we imagine. In the past few months a number of people very close to me have been struggling in a way I hope most people will never have to experience, where the simple act of getting out of bed feels too hard to face.

But sadly they are not alone. And while there may be many external factors that led them to that dark place, each one a monster of its own, it is the way the mundane aspects of daily life also become monsters they have to face which is the most frightening.

With love and support my friends are slowly recovering, but not everyone is so lucky. You may not understand someone else’s experience, but you don’t have to understand it to acknowledge they are experiencing it. Just be there for them, listen to them, and hold their hand while they face whatever monster they need to face.

Never mind! They’re just flowers… I’ll draw them back in again later. Off to prep another painting now! (The joys of an overactive mind🤣)

A lot of people have asked me recently... is my art for sale? The short answer is: yes.

For the last eight months, I was quietly working towards a massive collection of 30 to 40 paintings for a solo exhibition in a rural gallery in September. However, as the logistics and layout came together, it became clear that filling a gallery that size so far away wasn’t going to be possible given my available studio time and life commitments. So, I made the decision to pull out of that show.

But the silver lining for my local collectors is that I have a selection of finished, original works which are completed, varnished, and available for sale.

Over the coming weeks, I’m going to be sharing the deeper emotional stories, the physical textures, and the captured moments behind each of these individual pieces.

Whilst some pieces have already sold, if you’ve had your eye on a specific piece from my grid, send me a DM. Otherwise, stay tuned for the close-ups.

“Unbound”
“She does not fight the storm that’s coming... she expands to fill the sky until she is powerfully, beautifully unbound.”

There’s a specific kind of strength in knowing when to stop resisting and start expanding.

We’re often told that resilience is about standing firm, like a wall, against the wind. But walls eventually break.

“Unbound” is about a different kind of power. It’s about the true strength found in adaptability.

This piece has evolved over the last few weeks as I worked through the mess of the first layers, building her form then letting it slowly dissolve into the atmosphere. To me, she represents that moment we stop fighting the elements and decide to become part of them... moving with the current, expanding our own spirit until we aren’t being moved by the storm... we are the storm.

She is a reminder that you don’t have to fight the chaos to be powerful... you just have to be the one who decides where the storm ends and you begin.

50cm square. Mixed Media/Oil on Canvas.

She’s still in the studio drying, but once she’s varnished and framed, she will be available for the person who needs to remember they are stronger than the storm. ⚡☁️

Happy Mother’s Day!

To all the mums, step-mums, foster mums, and everyone else who is “mumming” right now… we hope you had an amazing day.

and I took our mum to the today to check out the amazing works, enjoy a hot beverage, and spend spend some quality time together. It’s been a while since we had a “mummy/daughters date”, but these are the memories I treasure the most.

Love you Mama!🥰

“Getting the Goss”.
When the story is hotter than the drink in your hand.

I’m a bit late to the party with this post (the exhibition is already in full swing!), but she is the final piece of my trio for the Gallery ‘Little Feature Wall’ this month.

She’s the fun second half of the conversation started in “Spilling the Tea”. Whilst “Spilling the Tea” is about the delivery, “Getting the Goss” is all about the reaction... that moment of complete, utter disbelief.

Swipe to see her evolution. Like the others, she’s a result of many layers... acrylic markers, acrylic and alcohol inks, and eventually, the oils that bring her to life. If you look closely at the details, you’ll find those iridescent surprises and pops of gold that you can only see when the light hits her just right.

🗓 Exhibition: 2–30 May.

Finally… a photo of my paintings on the wall in a gallery! And yes… as you can tell, I’m a total nerd.

Yesterday we headed to for the opening of the May “Little Feature Wall” (including my tea trio) and Solstice, as well as the combined exhibition of .art and . While we were there Leisa O’Gorman also arrived and I was totally fan-girling while we chatted (sorry Leisa🤣).

I also got to meet the lovely and had a fantastic conversation about painting and framing and life in general.

And if all that wasn’t wonderful enough, my partner took me to lunch at GOMA afterwords (coz he’s literally the best). I couldn’t ask for a better day out.

If you are in and around Brisbane, I highly recommend a visit to Aspire (…and not just because my paintings are there😆).

“Spilling the Tea”.
spill the tea / (verb): the art of sharing the juicy truth, best served piping hot and without a filter.

This piece is a fun peek behind the curtain of female bonding… savouring the moment of sharing a story that’s too good to keep to yourself.

Whilst she is a standalone piece, she was painted as one half of a conversation which is completed by “Getting the Goss” (more on that one soon...).

Swipe to see her evolution! Like my last piece, she’s built in layers that leave a visible history. If you look closely, you’ll find those iridescent surprises and pops of gold that only come out to play when the light hits.

This is the second of three pieces available at as part of their May ‘Little Feature Wall’.

🗓 Exhibition: 2–30 May.

Turquoise – A powerful healing tool linked to immune, respiratory, waste and skeletal systems, detoxification of alcohol, poison, pollution or radiation in the body, treatment of high blood pressure, asthma, infections, jaw and dental problems.
