When I first looked at entering a piece of art into the Mount Roland Art Prize, I had no idea what I could do. I had never painted to a theme before. “Fragility”
And then one day I saw a drop of water clinging to the tip of my alocascia plant and it came together. The fragility of life on our planet, the dependence on water by every living being. A very different painting for me.

I am spending some time this year exploring and learning from Sarah Stokes, a watercolour and charcoal artist from the UK.
This is some of the work I have done so far. I am finding that I am really comfortable with charcoal art.
