East Face Mt. Kailash Parvat with Gauri K***a

What happens when a landscape we have revered for centuries begins to change?

In Binod Pradhan’s East Face Mt. Kailash Parvat with Gauri K***a, the Himalaya appears in a moment of quiet reflection. Mt. Kailash and Gauri K***a evoke ideas of purity, spirituality and permanence, yet today, the Himalayan landscape is anything but unchanged.

As glaciers retreat, snowfall patterns shift and climate-driven floods and landslides become an increasing reality across Nepal, this work invites us to look again at what we may once have taken for eternal.

A painting of the Himalaya, but also a reminder of what is at stake.

A solitary stupa rests among the mountains, holding a quiet sense of faith, place, and resilience.

As Nepal faces another difficult moment, Sacred Realms feels especially close to home, reminding us of the strength and stillness found within our landscape and communities.

What happens when a landscape we have always known begins to change?

In Melting Himalayas II, Asha Dangol reflects on the gradual transformation of Himalayan glaciers, bringing together the beauty of the mountains and the quiet urgency of environmental change.
