Katapultt Katapultt is a platform where we regularly showcase a mix of different artists. The selection may sometimes seem surprising, but it always results in a beautiful blend, just like a good cocktail.

In our exhibition space in Scheldewindeke, we always strive to offer visitors a welcoming viewing experience. With Kortrijk Art Weekend, we now want to export this experience beyond our familiar walls under the name “Katapultt on Tour”.
You are very welcome to come and discover the following artists at Consservatoriumplein 8 on the second floor:
- Alice Vanderschoot
- Amber Geuns
- Anne Vanoutryve
- Bert De Geyter
- Conrad Willems
- Lenny Vervaeke
- Roeland Tweelinckx
- Victor Verhelst
- Willem Boel

Hi, Lo-Tek

Over the past century, human innovation has witnessed a revolution in materials. As a result, the everyday objects and materials we interact with today would be unrecognizable to those who lived during the First World War. The introduction of computer-aided design has further pushed our shared experience of objects toward a new aesthetic. In response to this rapid evolution of our visual and tactile experience, Frock Gallery has curated “Hi, Lo-Tek.” — a contemporary art exhibition featuring artists who use low-tech processes to produce innovative results, alongside others who employ high-tech materials and methods to create new works.

Amidst various colorless industrial buildings from a distant past, number 10—with its three blue-green doors—adds a splash of color to Doornstraat. This is where you step into the DA Collection.

Across different exhibition spaces — Doorn and Noord — parts of the collection are presented in rotating exhibitions. Driven by the power of the image, the collection spans from the 17th century to today, revealing itself here to the visitor.

The collection has a dynamic character: the works are continually shown in new combinations and around shifting themes. Some pieces you may recognize, as the collection actively lends works to exhibitions both at home and abroad.

SOLITUDE at Pand 00X

This exhibition explores the happiness that can be found within ‘solitude’—the sense of calm that emerges when one attains mental peace.

The five participating artists each succeed in striking the delicate balance between solitude and joy. Their art acts as a blanket: it protects the viewer while simultaneously drawing them into their universe. You can wander through it, yet never feel lost. Even when the works evoke a sense of disorientation, they offer reassurance through their beauty.

Solitude features works by: Philippe de Gobert, Henk Delabie, Camille Gharbi, Steve Dean Mendes & Mirjan Rooze

📍 Location: Pand00x, Kortrijk
🗓️ When: October 24 – November 16, 2025
🎨 Curator: Klaus Verscheure

REFLECTIONS

brings together three artistic worlds:
Demeyere, Debeerst, and people living with a neurological condition. This group of creators weaves artworks on an old loom, combined with printmaking on vintage sheets.

In every thread, a story, a memory, an experience is reflected. This exhibition reveals the process of weaving and printing—slow and rhythmic—opening space for reflection, connection, and expression.

invites us to both look and feel: at the artwork, at each other, and at ourselves.

Kunst In Huis Loulou João is an Afro Belgian visual artist. Due to her mixed roots she developed an interdimensional worldview. Because of this, she approaches political, cultural, socio-economic and historical aspects of the white world in an analytical way.

Investigating how whiteness as a default and the perceived superiority thereof is upheld and how it affects her own identity and position within this societal setting.
She attempts to shine a different light on the narration and representation of women belonging to the Afro Diaspora. She sees blackness as a technology. One that is constantly evolving to survive and go up against issues like objectification and oppression.

By making use of 3D software (Blender), she visualizes her own reality. A digital world that consists of candy coated squishy plastic objects. All while using hyper femme cuteness as her visual language to create a safe space. One where she is able to focus on the expression of her own true self without any constructs weighing her down.

Giving her the opportunity to reflect on the struggles she faces and hopefully making topics like mental health, identity and sexuality more discussable.

BIRDS, I AM A BIRD WATCHER at Kunstenhuis

It is striking that contemporary art increasingly features images of birds. Is it simply because birds have been depicted for centuries? In the past, birds were painted and sculpted not only for their grace and beauty, but also because they symbolized certain concepts: the owl for wisdom, the dove for peace, the vulture for misfortune, etc.

Do birds symbolize something again? Do birds creep into the work of contemporary artists because they are inspired by old masters Does it have to do with the aesthetic power that birds radiate? Is it a feeling or compulsion for freedom, or is it, as is so often the case, that artists are keeping their finger on the pulse and want to make us aware of the fact that this species is rapidly disappearing?
It is simply a fact that fewer and fewer birds can be spotted in nature, but all the more so in art.

All things not made yet already belong to them at
5.10.2025 - 2.11.2025

Marlie Mul’s practice moves between sculpture, graphics, fashion, happenings, and branding. She creates objects that evoke organic bodies or appear fluid, while simultaneously referring to plastics and malleable structures.

She transforms everyday materials, from hair or small bones to metal and silicone, into playful sculptures that often carry a critical undertone.
With side projects such as PMS4all, Mul explores profound social and gender-related ideas through accessible formats like T-shirt prints.

In her exhibition at rhizome, Marlie Mul presents a new series of works in folded silicone, producing a subtle balance between graphic surface and sculptural volume.

We Already Have Enough at The wrong house offers a quiet space of resistance and contemplation in a world collapsing under the weight of endless production and consumption.

Through intimate paintings and an immersive textile installation, Gļeb(s) Maiboroda explores making and thinking as one intertwined act. Drawing from icon-painting and weaving traditions, the works embody care and time, inviting us to slow down as a gesture toward another possible world. Rooted in q***r ideas of radical care, Gļeb(s) approaches art not as production, but as presence, repair, and transformation.

Born in Riga, Latvia (1994), Gļeb(s) now lives and works in Amsterdam. This marks their first solo exhibition in Flanders, supported by the Mondriaan Fund.

✨ the wrong house is an artist-run initiative with a unique history in textiles. The building, once part of Kortrijk’s textile industry, has become an experimental space where art, heritage, and contemporary practices enter into dialogue. It literally and metaphorically weaves a thread between past and present.
