Dora Moon Rock Lamp by André Cazenave

Designed in 1969 by French sculptor André Cazenave, the Dora Moon Rock Lamp stands as a landmark icon of French Mid-Century Modern design. Conceived during the era of space exploration, this sculptural light seamlessly blends organic, nature-inspired forms with modern materials. Handcrafted with a molded fiberglass shell coated in fine marble powder, the lamp captures the tactile texture and irregular contours of a smooth river stone or lunar rock. Unlit, it serves as an understated, grounding art piece. When switched on, the material diffuses light into a soft, golden glow that evokes the serene surface of the moon. Ideal as a floor lamp or low-profile table accent, the Dora lamp bridges the gap between functional lighting and organic sculpture. This rather larger model is in excellent vintage condition.
