MONT BLANC region- tips for families
🚠 Aiguille du Midi
One of the most unforgettable experiences in the Alps — take the cable car from Chamonix high above the mountains for breathtaking panoramic views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding glaciers. At the top you’ll find bridges between the mountains, tunnels carved into the rocks, multiple viewing platforms, a museum, cinema, restaurant and souvenir shop. Definitely book in advance, especially during weekends and holidays.
🏔️ Chamonix
A lively alpine town full of charming streets, cafés, mountain restaurants and stunning Mont Blanc views around every corner. Take the Montenvers train to the Mer de Glace glacier, stroll through the center or simply enjoy the magical atmosphere of one of the world’s most famous mountain destinations.
🌲 Le Grand-Bornand
One of our favorite family villages with playgrounds, the Parc Aventure rope park, the beautiful La Cascade Mystérieuse waterfall hidden in the forest nearby and the creative family cow walk through alpine pastures filled with fun cow statues along the route.
🪂 La Clusaz
Perfect for hiking, mountain restaurants with panoramic views, relaxing by the beautiful Lac des Confins and trying the fun zip line above the lake.
🚗 Col des Aravis
Don’t miss the incredibly scenic drive through the Col des Aravis mountain pass between La Clusaz and Megève with stunning Mont Blanc views along the way.
☕️ Megève
A dreamy luxury mountain village with horse carriages, beautiful cafés, family-friendly hikes and gorgeous cobblestone streets.
♨️ Saint-Gervais-les-Bains
Relax in the thermal baths with stunning mountain surroundings, ride the scenic mountain train and enjoy peaceful family walks. Just note that kids are only allowed in the thermal area during limited family time slots. And don’t miss Le Relais des Communailles — a must-visit mountain restaurant with incredible Mont Blanc views.
