We never wanted to write this, but we have come to the painful decision to close our doors at Oberlindau 7. Sakhile&Me has always been both, a place for sharing work and play by the artists whose practice we appreciate and a space of re-conditioning. Thank you to the artists, the vocal art lovers, and the silent supporters. We see you, we adore you, and we appreciate you walking and working with us over these past 7+ years. In all our languages: Realeboga. Thank you. Vielen Dank. To every artist who has seen us through the joyful and heavy moments, we uplift you and we trust that you will continue to follow your instincts, to receive the affirmations and clarity you need, and to land softly in the places, spaces, and times you are moving in.

Thank you. Realeboga.

We’re excited to be part of the second edition of “House of Galleries” by and we’re grateful to be able to show a duo presentation with works by .quu and .

Niquu is an interdisciplinary artist working with textiles, ceramics, paintings and natural pigments. Their practice is rooted in material processes that unfold slowly, emphasizing transformation, decay and sensorial experience. Through these methods, they explore themes of impermanence, ritual and relationality, engaging with the porous boundaries between body, memory, and landscape.

Taking place on the 42nd, 43rd, and 44th floors of the Trianon tower, the House of Galleries brings together more than 40 galleries, each exhibiting a one-artist show or a curated two-artist presentation.

Ghizlane Sahli creates embroidery sculptures and installations made from the tops of used bottles covered with silk thread, a technique she refers to as “the Alveoles.” Her inspiration includes the human body, particularly the female body in its intimacy. She imagines poetic, dream-like worlds where she can experiment with and create bridges between her passions: space and volume (stemming from her studies in architecture), silk thread (from her experience and knowledge of embroidery), the environment (through her personal interrogations of durable development and the future of the planet) and womanhood.

Taking place on the 42nd, 43rd, and 44th floors of the Trianon tower, the House of Galleries brings together more than 40 galleries, each exhibiting a one-artist show or a curated two-artist presentation.

Opening tomorrow

House of Galleries by with a duo presentation of works by .quu and .

We invite you to join us for the second edition of House of Galleries, where we will be showing textile assemblage and sculpture works by Niquu Eyeta and Ghizlane Sahli. Both artists explore transience, transformation, and sustainability in their respective practice and their work shares a fluid transition between figuration and abstraction, drawing focus to their meditative use of natural materials by employing slow, sometimes repetitive processes guided by intuition and emotion.

Taking place on the 42nd, 43rd, and 44th floors of the Trianon tower, the House of Galleries brings together more than 40 galleries, each exhibiting a one-artist show or a curated two-artist presentation. For the fair, each gallery based in Frankfurt invited another gallery based elsewhere and we are excited to collaborate with .gallery from Berlin on this occasion.

»Hope is the Thing With Feathers« with Jordan Awori, Larry Bonćhaka, Niquu Eyeta, Aniela Idehen, Sopo Kashakashvilli, and Nando Nkrumah is inspired by acts of communal resistance, reflection, and relational curiosity. The exhibition includes paper collage works, textile tapestries, photography, installation, sound, painting, and sensory sculptures.

As the title of the exhibition, »Hope is the Thing With Feathers« borrows from the collaborative and public performance piece of the same name co-created by .bonchaka and , whose practice together and individually fosters communion, regard of self and each other in both public and private spaces, and relationship in acts of resistance and gathering. The title originally stems from the 1891 poem by Emily Dickinson.

Please join us in welcoming all the artists this upcoming Thursday.

Ana Paula dos Santos is a visual artist whose work extends to include photography, site-specific installation and video. Her practice is shaped by her coming of age in Brazil as well as her study of human geography and “decolonial studies,” using the camera and history of photography to explore the way the printed image has historically been used to frame our understanding of history and to investigate ways of using experimental techniques to reformulate or reconstruct the image. The artist earned her Master of Arts in Human Geography with a focus in Decolonial Debates in Art from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe University (Frankfurt) and is currently completing her studies at the Städelschule in Frankfurt. Dos Santos lives and works in Frankfurt.
