I never learned these in school, but I use / hear these all the time living in Paris
🇫🇷Je regarde pour l’instant, merci - I’m just looking for the moment, thank you
I use this all the time in shops 🤭
🇫🇷Convenir - to be convenient for, suited for, etc
Quelle heure te convient ? - what time is good for you?
🇫🇷Ça me va - that’s fine with me
🇫🇷C’est chaud - it’s difficult, a close one, a tall order, dangerous etc
This is so common in conversational French! Not to be confused with:
Il fait chaud - it’s hot (weather)
🇫🇷Bosser - to work (slang)
Elle bosse beaucoup en ce moment
(This is so so common in French, it always blows my mind how often French learners don’t know this word)
🇫🇷Boulot - work (slang, noun)
J’ai beaucoup de boulot - I have a lot of work
(Really common way to say “travail”)
🇫🇷Pas mal de - a lot of (like “beaucoup de”)
Il a pas mal de boulot - he has a lot of work
🇫🇷Ça n’a pas de sens - that makes no sense
I say this when I’m mad 😂
Another variation:
Ça n’a aucun sens
