Look at the beauty only a stones throw away 🥰

The stunning Clydach Gorge in north-west Monmouthshire (between Abergavenny & Brynmawr). This photo is of Devil's Bridge over the River Clydach by Alan Coles ( on Instagram).

The gorge is a true hidden gem which was once full of ironworks, blast furnaces, quarries and mine, but is now an idyllic valley of beech woodlands, ponds, waterfalls and wildlife (with the industrial remains slowly being reclaimed by nature).

We'd recommend heading to Clydach Ironworks if you want to explore the site, as the recently refurbished site has both parking and picnic spots. You can find out more (including great walks) on our website.
