16 yr old George hand-shaping his 5’8 twin pin on his ‘Shape your own’ weekend a few weeks back! This board turned out insanely good!!

“My son recently took part in the two-day surfboard shaping course, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, Ellie was incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and attentive.
Before the course even began, Ellie took the time to consult with us over email, and phone, about board design and logistics. She was flexible and accommodating, while also offering clear, expert guidance to help refine the shape. That level of care and communication really set the tone for what followed.
During the course itself, Ellie guided my son through every stage of the shaping process. She carefully demonstrated each technique from creating the outline, through cutting, planning, rocker profile, rail shape…. making sure he understood, and then supported him as he applied the skills himself. Her teaching style struck a great balance between instruction and encouragement, which really helped build his confidence. As a school teacher myself I really can vouch for her instructional style.
We’ve attempted shaping a board before using YouTube tutorials, but the difference in quality this time is remarkable. With Ellie’s guidance, my son has produced a far more refined and professional-looking board—one we’re both extremely proud of. We’re now very much looking forward to getting it in the water once it’s been glassed.
