The candlelit ghost tours at Aston Hall have returned.

From Wednesday 28 - Friday 30 October, let us guide you around our candlelit grand old mansion and share with you the tales of our ghosts at Aston Hall.

"Volunteering does many things – it’s something different to do; it’s a valuable contribution; it teaches you different skills; it keeps the brain working; it informs you; it means that you meet others; above all, it’s really enjoyable."

In our latest blog post, husband and wife duo Phil and Jan share their experience of volunteering for the Voices of the City project, making Birmingham Museums City Sound Archive publicly available.

On Wednesday 28 October, join us at Blakesley Hall for a spooky Witchcraft and Wizardry show with our friends from ZooLab.

As part of their Witchcraft and Wizardry show, visitors will be able to get up close and hands-on with exotic animals while exploring some of the spooky superstitions and gruesome remedies used back in Tudor times.

Meet snakes, spiders, snails and more as we delve into history to find out what would have been prescribed for things like a sore throat, the animals that used to spook the locals, and why everyone hated rats.
