Here are some extracts from Wick Voices top ten recordings - you'll see that the voices are not just from Wick but from all over the county. It's good to see our very own George Carter talking about fishing and the emotional and heartfelt recording of Ali Simpson sharing his experiences of lifeboat heroes which was recorded during Dawn Maclean's stunning 'Fisher Folk and Other Local Legends' exhibition.

What an amazing community of folk we belong to 💙🐟🌊

The Wick Voices oral history project is 10 years old in 2026. To mark that milestone we have put together this half-hour compilation of short excerpts from the 10 most popular recordings according to listening figures at the present time May 2026. This compilation is the 500th recording to be ...

Our Creative Minds group had a fantastic day out to visit Wick Heritage Museum looking for creative inspiration. They share so much social history with Waterlines and are home to the Johnston Photographic collection ... a very very special historical source 📷

We loved our day and came away with loads of ideas.

A huge thank you to the lovely team and to Museums Galleries Scotland for funding the project 💙

Some more exciting news ... we are absolutely delighted to have been awarded £5500 from the Association of Independent Museums to spend on the immediate conservation of our museum collection and training our staff and volunteers in conservation and cataloguing. This will allow us to do our very best for existing treasures and hopefully in the near future be able to open our collection again to donations and gifts.

A huge thank you to the Pilgrim Trust and The Julia Rausing Trust who provide the funding distributed by AIM for this purpose.

We can't wait for a chat with Bunty ... 💙

Join us in kicking off the LGC Centenary celebrations with a FUN Heritage Event - Hickory Golf, play golf as it was when the club was established way back in 1926 (not sure there will be many around who remember that).

Hickory Golf club sets provided, and you may even decide to dress in a 1920’s style?

Lybster is a very special wee village ... it even has its own golf club that is celebrating its 100th birthday this year with a series of events, competitions (and maybe a wee party) ... how lovely is this letter from the Royal and Ancient at St Andrews? 🏌️‍♂️🎂

A really lovely letter arrived today … we look forwarded to welcoming everyone to the celebrations, starting with a fun Hickory Sticks heritage event on the 7th June, closely followed by the John Gunn & Sons Centenary Open on the 13th / 14th June (play either day) competing for the Norse Stone Centenary Trophy.
