Two workshops coming this month from the find. Founders, Wendy and Liz. Both at Faversham.

21st Feb - Mosaic day to make Cat, Cactus or Teacup china mirror. 10 til 3pm, £75 including materials.

28th Feb - Silver Jewellery to create a silver leaf pendant or earrings from a real leaf. 10 til 4pm, £95 including all materials.

Our last artist is Liz Pearson

Liz is a second career jewellery artist, utilising metal clay, traditional metalsmithing, and mixed media techniques to create wearable objects that reflect the past, textures, forms, and movements.

Liz is an accredited teacher for Art Clay and PMC. She also holds teaching qualifications for Adult Education and City & Guilds in Fine Jewellery. She regularly attends workshops to broaden her skills and offers metal clay and metalsmithing classes regularly.

Liz started her jewellery journey 20 years ago after a career in the theatre and management. She set up Angelheart and The Sinter Studio in London, where she teaches metalsmithing and metal clay techniques. She really enjoys sharing her skills and knowledge, seeing others' creativity blossom.

Based in Faversham, she takes part in ‘The best of Faversham’ market on the 3rd Saturday of the month. She has exhibited at various Galleries and maker's fairs.

Her work is made up of one-off unique pieces , limited editions, and her mini collections, made from silver, gold, and mixed media.

Our next artist is Wendy Dean

Wendy a professional artist working mostly in mosaic. She loves collecting and assembling found
objects and unusual treasures, adding her own interpretation to achieve her finished pieces. She
enjoys using mosaic and assemblage to breathe new life into what others might throw away and
letting individual items lead her to new ideas and creations. She wants her pieces to bring a bit of
fun and happiness to the viewer.

She works on a mixture of her own pieces, commissions and larger mural projects with schools and community groups, including some international mosaic projects. She specialises in personalised pieces for special events and occasions.

She runs regular workshops and classes from her Mosaics at Heart studio in Catford, London.

Our next artist is Bev Burt

30 years ago, I joined a pottery class at Adult Education for therapy. It was love at first sight! I still get excited about opening a glaze kiln firing.

My work is influenced by my love of myths and fairytales and the work of the"Martin Brothers."
All my ceramic are fired to stoneware, making them suitable for outdoors.

Our next artist is Helen Japes.

Helen japes has been a textile designer for many years, selling hand painted silk to shops such as Liberty and Paul Smith.

Recently, Helen has been experimenting with eco-printing as an alternative to the use of the harsh chemicals employed in the fashion industry.
Eco-printing uses traditional, natural dye knowledge in a modern application to transfer plant pigments directly onto fabric using steam.
All her scarves have been individually printed and dyed by hand using leaves, flowers, tree bark and vegetables and can be washed by hand.

Our next artist is Rose Dickinson.

After a lifetime of making & teaching ceramics I established a new studio at Creek Creative in Faversham in 2010.

My porcelain collection is inspired by my love of nature and the flora & fauna of the North Kent marshes where I live. I like to use the structures & textures found in natural forms juxtaposed with textures from found objects to produce an unusual but affordable range of work, which is both decorative & functional. I use fine porcelain clay, which reflects the delicacy of the textures and soft underglaze colours to enhance the decoration.

For my garden range, I utilise the coarser texture of stoneware crank clay to make succulent pots, planters & bird baths. The forms & decoration are influenced by rock strata & pebbles & I use textures from found objects plus fossils & and shells, which are highlighted by oxides & dry glazes.

I make bespoke panels ranging from small decorative pieces and mirrors to commissioned installation and repair work. I work alongside you to create both traditional and modern windows that will complement unique spaces.
