Another busy graduation day yesterday, with just over 200 visitors. That seems to be a regular sort of number now we are more proactive in letting the families know that we are there, and open.

We now have our sectioned Gipsy Major engine on display. We had a suitable propellor, another museum kindly donated a boss, but we were missing the sleeve-nut to tie it all together. The Station Workshops came to rescue, and the one they made is so lovely it is a shame to hide it!

We had a visit from all the lovely staff at our own little Halton School and hope to see them again (and again).

A sunny and windy parade yesterday (don't ask about the hats....) but a good crowd in the museum and, including the morning visitors, the total was 200 for the day. So far this year we have already exceeded 50% of the visitor numbers for the whole of 2025.

Another very busy day yesterday. We started with Haddenham Classic Cars, then welcomed a group of our friends from the Shuttleworth Collection, then a local history group in the afternoon, with a few families thrown in the mix too.

The Easter holidays have proved very busy, with 40+ visitors last Wednesday, a graduation yesterday with well over 200, and another 50 visitors booked for this coming Saturday. Total numbers for the year to date are almost twice what they were at the same time last year.

Our reorganisation of the exhibits continued this week with the move of two aircraft engines, the Derwent and the Adour, from the museum to join all the other engines in the flight centre. Thankfully no limbs were lost in the process, but inevitably a little blood was shed.

I told you it was going to be a big one. How about 74 Model T Fords, all different, and about 175 people. It was a great day and several people said they would come back. Special thanks to the chaps from the Military Guarding Service who had to open the gates again, twice, for stragglers.

We have a new mannequin on display to celebrate the ex- Apprentices that climbed Mount Everest in May 2001. The climbing kit was kindly donated by Pete Greening (148 Entry), seen in the picture, and also on the climb were Dan Carroll (139 Entry) and Rusty Bale.

We had a visit from one of our regular schools today. They were actually doing WW1 studies but, with a bit of spare time at the end, who can resist the chance to try on a respirator, or a hat, or sit in the Gnat, or.....
