Over the winter we have been slowly making adjustments to our display layouts. These are at last coming together so we are gradually getting things in a more logical order.
We have also upgraded our digital technology and we have new computers which are a lot more compact than those we started off with, which served us remarkably well but were assembled from several salvaged and donated items.
Especially useful to us in our illustrated talks is our new “Big Screen”, which has greatly enhanced the quality of the photos and images we usually include.
For this coming season we will continue to be open from Tuesdays to Saturdays, but we are making a slight adjustment to our opening hours, as follows:
Between Tuesday, 14th. April and Thursday, 30th. we will be open between 1pm. and 4pm. and from Friday, 1st. May onward we will be open between 11am. and 4pm.
SAVE THE DATE On Wednesday, 6th. May, we are having a fund-raising “Pop-up Café”. The time has still to be finalised, but please keep the date in mind. The “craic” is sure to be good, and the baking even better.
We are often asked, “When’s your next “Talk”? Well, we have two in mind. The first one will probably be on very interesting aspects of “The seaweed industry” of the 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s and lightly blending into the present form of the industry.
A second topic will be a VERY interesting talk on the celebrated, but nowadays little known, Murchadh Chroladh. This talk will be delivered by Mr. Angus MacLennan OBE, (Aonghas Ghobhaig), who is a splendid orator and story-teller. Angus has a wealth of family knowledge of Murchadh and Croladh. He is allegedly retired but still has a very full diary, so we are contacting him to find out when he can fit us in.
Thank you for our encouraging interest in our efforts over the last couple of years so please come along at any time to see more of what we have to browse through.
