We are absolutely delighted to share some exciting news… 🎉
The Bog Cast is now officially a registered Trademark®!
What started as an idea to shine a spotlight on the people, stories and passion behind the washroom and away-from-home toilet industry has grown into something we are incredibly proud of, and having The Bog Cast officially trademarked feels like another huge milestone in the journey.
A huge thank you goes to Michelle Ward from Indelible IP Limited for all of her help, guidance and support in securing this for us. Your expertise has been invaluable and we are so grateful.
And the excitement does not stop there…
On June 1st, we will be releasing our 5th podcast episode, featuring the fantastic Craig Rees from Pencelli Castle Caravan & Camping Park. Craig, alongside his father Gerwyn and brother Morgan , has achieved the prestigious Diamond Grading for their away-from-home washrooms for several consecutive years, an incredible achievement that reflects their dedication to exceptional standards.
To top it all off, at the 2025 Loo of the Year Awards, held in January 2026, the family were honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award, a truly deserved recognition for their long-standing commitment to excellence within the industry. 👏
We would also like to say a huge thank you to Fiona Scott Media for all of their fantastic work recording and producing The Bog Cast episodes for us. Your creativity, professionalism and support have played such an important part in bringing the podcast to life. 🎙️
We cannot wait to share this inspiring conversation with you all.
Thank you to everyone who has supported The Bog Cast so far, we are only just getting started!

Today I had the privilege of speaking at the Herefordshire Means Business Ltd Women’s Summit held in the stunning surroundings of Belmont Abbey , along with Listening to brilliant speakers, Sally Gibson , Fliss Falconer ,Mark Perkins , Kim Green, and Emily Witcher.
It is always a little daunting standing up to share your story and experiences, but days like today remind me why these conversations matter so much. Hearing from so many inspiring women in business, all at different stages of their journeys, was both uplifting and motivating.
Running businesses can sometimes feel relentless, and it is easy to become so focused on the next challenge that you forget to stop and appreciate how important connection, encouragement and shared experiences really are. Today created the space for exactly that.
I came away feeling incredibly grateful, not only to have been invited to speak, but also to have met so many wonderful people throughout the day. There was such a positive atmosphere in the room, filled with honesty, support and genuine encouragement for one another.
A heartfelt thank you to Herefordshire Means Business Ltd for organising such a thoughtful and inspiring event, and for inviting me to be part of it.

💜 Today is World IBD Day 💜
Today we shine a light on the more than 500,000 people in the UK living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), including Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
For many people living with IBD, access to clean, safe, and nearby toilets is not simply a convenience, it is a lifeline. The anxiety of not knowing where the next toilet is can make everyday journeys, work, shopping trips, and social occasions incredibly stressful.
At the Loo of the Year Awards, we believe toilets matter because people matter.
That is why we are incredibly proud to have supported Crohn’s & Colitis UK as our Charity of the Year for the past two years, using our platform to help raise awareness of the disease and the vital importance of good away-from-home toilet provision.
We are delighted to continue supporting their work. We are also proud to work alongside Stefan Thomas, our 2025 keynote speaker our MC for our 2026 & 2027 event. As someone living with Ulcerative Colitis, Stefan continues to be a passionate advocate in helping raise awareness, challenge stigma, and encourage open conversations around toilet access and invisible illnesses.
🚻 Need to plan ahead?
Our interactive map shows inspected toilet facilities across the UK, complete with their gradings, helping people travel with greater confidence and peace of mind.

💜 A decent loo can change someone’s day.
🚻 An understanding loo provider can change someone’s life.
Let us continue to raise standards, improve awareness, and flush away the stigma surrounding IBD.

Following on from our recent Mental Health Awareness Week posts and this year’s theme of Take Action 💙 , today was a reminder that sometimes the most important action is simply bringing people together.
At A Plush Flush, alongside Loo of The Year Awards Ltd, we are proud to support We Are Farming Minds, an incredible local mental health charity supporting the farming community across Herefordshire and our local area.
Today we provided toilet facilities and picnic benches through A Plush Flush for their monthly One Foot in the Grain gathering, held on the last Friday of every month. These events give farmers the opportunity to visit different farms, learn about farming practices, socialise, talk openly and share food together in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Farming can often be isolating, and charities like We Are Farming Minds are making a real difference to so many people and families across Herefordshire.
We are incredibly proud to work alongside them and support the amazing work they do within our rural community.
Because mental health support is not always about grand gestures, sometimes it starts with conversation, connection, community and creating welcoming spaces where people feel comfortable to come together.
Thank you to We Are Farming Minds for everything you do 💙

Following up from yesterday’s post for Mental Health Awareness Week, where the theme is Take Action 💙

Let us talk about something many people experience every single day, away-from-home washrooms.

How does a workplace toilet make you feel if it is unclean, poorly maintained, used as a storage room, or simply does not feel safe or comfortable to use?

And when you are out shopping, travelling, socialising or attending events, how does it feel if the toilets are dirty, poorly lit, missing consumables, have broken locks or no hooks on the doors?

For some people, this can increase stress, anxiety and discomfort. For others, it may simply make them avoid returning to that venue altogether.

Something as basic as a clean, safe and welcoming washroom can have a huge impact on confidence, dignity, wellbeing and inclusion.

Now let us flip this on its head…

Let us celebrate the businesses, venues and cleaning teams who do get it right.

The organisations that understand that quality washrooms matter.

The teams who work hard behind the scenes every day.

The washrooms that make people feel comfortable, respected and cared for.

If you know a business, venue or washroom technician who deserves recognition, why not nominate them for this year’s Loo of The Year Awards Ltd ?

💙 This Mental Health Awareness Week, let us Take Action by recognising the places that help people feel safe, supported and confident when away from home.

Because great washrooms do not happen by accident, they happen because people care.

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, this year’s theme is Take Action 💙
Sometimes, taking action starts with the basics, feeling comfortable, safe and supported wherever we are.
Away-from-home washrooms play an important role in everyday wellbeing, whether we are at work, travelling, shopping, attending events or socialising with friends and family. Access to clean, accessible and well-maintained facilities can reduce anxiety, support dignity and help people feel more confident about getting out and about.
For many people, knowing suitable washrooms are available can make the difference between joining in or staying at home.
So this week, let’s recognise that small actions matter:
✔️ Maintaining clean facilities
✔️ Providing accessible toilets and Changing Places
✔️ Ensuring good signage and availability
✔️ Creating spaces people feel comfortable using
Because when we improve washrooms, we help improve experiences, inclusion and wellbeing too.

Today marked the very first booking for the luxury trailers under the new ownership of Mackellar from Hippo Events.
Charles and I travelled down to the site to help with the first set-up, making sure both Hector and our customers, who we have had the pleasure of providing facilities for at many of their family events over the years, were happy and confident with everything.
It feels very special to be able to pass our knowledge on to the next generation, but even more rewarding to see Hector’s energy, enthusiasm and strong business awareness shining through already.
We wish him every success on this exciting new journey and we know the trailers are in very good hands.
We are however still hiring out the single plastics, plastic disabled access and the standalone plastic gent's urinals, for events and parties.
