First Post After a Long Break!

Hello everyone,
It is time to revive nearly forgotten social media. Media silence is an enjoyable state, but it cannot last forever. I haven't been idle, even if it won't be as intense as last year. I hope to unveil the new colours of Floral Flames soon and announce dates for local markets this year. In the meantime, the online shop is running as usual, as those who visited know. For another week, the prices in the shop are those from last year, so it is worth checking out.

Like most people, we spent the pre-Christmas period in bed with a high fever and other unpleasant flu symptoms. These things happen, and there's no moaning about it. But for the first time in, I guess, fifty years, I had no Christmas tree last year!
Three days before Christmas Eve, I was able to walk, so I cleaned downstairs only and prepared only basic food. It’s amazing how perspective changes.

In the picture, you can see the only Christmas decorations we had last year.
With the number of decorations I had, tidying up after Christmas was like a game of 'spot the difference'. Except... there weren't any differences.

Last month's events truly left us speechless.

Before diving in, here’s a quick announcement:
You have just 5 days left to place your order for a personalized large candle or lantern to ensure delivery by Christmas. We currently have only three large blank candles and one blank large lantern available.

Every local Christmas market we participated in was a tremendous success. We had the pleasure of meeting dozens of new customers who made purchases on-site and later visited our website. We were truly amazed by the response. Thank you all for being so wonderful!

Our final Christmas market will occur on Saturday, the 14th, at Emmanuel's Yard in Trowbridge. Take a moment to check if your gifts are ready, and feel free to stop by for some last-minute shopping. No one will suspect a thing, as our handmade gifts are exquisite and always appear thoughtfully chosen.

Additionally, it's an event worth attending because we’re embracing the holiday spirit with a fantastic 20% discount on most items (ready, non-personalised products).

For those who ordered products online and wish to collect them in Trowbridge, your items are ready and waiting. If you prefer to have them shipped via Royal Mail or collected in Melksham instead, just let us know so we can arrange a convenient pickup for you.

🌟 Attention, candle aficionados! 🌟

So, the new candle was meant to be a minimalist marvel, but my inner artist had other plans. Now, it’s a dazzling beacon of joy! What do you think of its glamorous makeover? The burning tests are underway, and after 5 hours, it still looks fab!

On Saturday, we soaked up the sun at the beach, and let me tell you, there was an unexpected adventure involving a runaway beach ball, a determined seagull, and a very startled ice cream vendor! 😂

This week, it’s back to reality with some garden TLC and scraping paint off the stairs. Riveting stuff, right? 🙄

Here we go. It's been a week since I shared our dramatic announcement.
Afterwards, we sought comfort from our friends, relishing the hugs and kisses from six adorable Labrador puppies.
We then delved into a significant new order, crafting products from scratch with immense joy.
The satisfaction from completing that order was beyond words.
Thank you so much. I nearly forgot how fulfilling that felt.

What's featured in today's pictures?
Puppies, of course! Their cuteness is simply overwhelming, filled with love and warmth.

There are a few snapshots from 'The Kitchen' showcasing our product-making process.
Lastly, some photos of the new candle we are currently testing exist.

This candle uniquely blends soy wax, paraffin, and stearic acid.
It's quite challenging to describe, and pictures can't fully capture its essence.
The candle feels solid to the touch yet appears soft in appearance.
It's not white nor ivory but more akin to the colour of oat milk, in our view.
We are considering leaving the candle plain, but this may change in the future.

Good evening everyone

Today we come to you with a difficult but important announcement for us.

The last few weeks have forced us to look at Floral Flames from a distance and make some difficult decisions.

Due to decreasing orders in recent weeks and the lack of growing interest in our products or our social media content, we have decided to close Floral Flames at the end of the current financial year or until the products are sold out.

Unfortunately, the time we have spent creating social media content, working on the website and investing in training has not yielded the expected results, so we see no point or motivation to continue.
From this week onwards, our social media presence will be regular but limited to one weekly post.
During this time we will focus on making candles and lanterns to make the most of the wax we have left. For example, we just made our first large candle made from soya wax and a fully refined paraffin blend. It has a lovely ivory colour so we are optimistic.
Backing to the point, if nothing changes, we will not order a new batch of wax.
This time will also be useful for redecorating the rooms in the house.

We are not saying goodbye yet. We still hope to attend local fairs at the end of the year, if possible.
The website is still up and running, as is the Etsy store.
Of course, we will continue to respond to your messages and we are working until the very end ♥
