Top 5 Most-Ordered in June! ✨

These were the top 5 books ordered by my lovely customers in June 📚 It was so lovely to attend with my bookshop in a box and meet so many mums, dads, grandparents and little people ☺️ I also had so many orders for books as birthday presents. So happy to get some fantastic books into little hands this month 🥳

1. The Busy Train Book - take your wind-up train on a fun journey all the way to the zoo!

2. The Outdoor Book - packed full of outdoor adventures and activities, this was a must for us last month during (I have a giveaway coming up if you’ve been thinking of getting it!).

3. Don’t Tickle The Tiger! - furry patches to tickle various animals and elicit delightful animal noises. A great, different, sensory book for babies and toddlers.

4. My 1st Magic Painting Book The Garden - I’m so happy have released their wildly successful Magic Painting books in a range specifically designed for pre-school kids. So portable and mess-free, I’ve been taking it everywhere! I’ve even bought the new one - Under the Sea 🙈

5. All About Diversity - what is diversity and what does it mean for your life and kids? Fantastic book for all ages.

All books . Available to order via my website (see link in bio) and/or directly from me ☺️

Happy July!

Day 29 - Nature Walk

The simplest activities are often the best. These photos were taken on a country walk we took a few weeks ago. We found lots of different insects along the way which my eldest really enjoyed. We also found lots of flint in a ploughed field which is fascinating. You can just imagine someone sitting by the fire fashioning it into an arrow head or other tool.

It was fun to bring along our ‘199 Bugs’ book and identify the insects we found 🐞🕷🐌🪲

It’s been one of those weeks…poorly babies, self-isolation and working from home. I know so many of you are going through similar things as the number of COVID cases rise. We’re self isolating for the 2nd time in a week after eldest toddler developed a temperature and continuous cough last night. Pretty sure it’s just a nasty cold, same symptoms as our youngest who tested negative a few days ago but you can’t be too careful. There’s been a confirmed case at our nursery and so we’re being extra cautious. Even though it’s been rough I’ve had lots of lovely cuddles and my 18 month old even slept on me which he hasn’t done in forever 😢 it has slightly derailed and my posting schedule but I promise to post some more of our adventures pre-isolation for the rest of June. Hope you’re all safe and doing well xx

Day 22 - Beach trip 🐚

We got out for some fresh air this afternoon. We were all a bit out-of-sorts and the sea air really helped us all reset and stop being generally grumpy with each other. I find the sea really calming and it seems that the boys do too.

Do you like the beach or is there too much sand?

Day 21 - Feeding the cows 🐄

We met some cows on our walk and despite being shy in the beginning, by the send they were eating the dry cut grass from our hands by the end. So many different colours - my favourite was the little white and black dappled one. We had lots of fun making cow noises and there was lots of poo chat (of course 🙄😂). Think we may have to start potty training soon 😭 I’m not ready 😂 I have a few potty books are there any you would recommend? Let me know in the comments I’d be so grateful 🙏

Hope you’re all having a lovely Tuesday 🐮

Day 19 - Birthday party on the green 🎈

I forgot to post yesterday. We had such a lovely day with friends on the church green celebrating a 2nd birthday. It was a beautiful day and a fab party. It was lovely to switch off and really enjoy being with people even though I was running after two toddlers half the time. The boys had a great time, making friends and playing with balloons. Looking forward to more of this this summer 🙏 hope you all had lovely Saturdays. What did you get up to? Let me know in the comments below ☺️

Day 17 - Fungi 🍄

We went on a fungus hunt…which sounds terrible but really wasn’t 😂 I really found it hard to spot fungi but once I started seeing them it was all I could see!

Did you know?

🍄Fungi are in a kingdom of their own but are closer to animals than plants
🍄They have chemicals in their cell walls shared with lobsters and crabs
🍄A fungus has been discovered capable of breaking down plastics in weeks rather than years 😲
🍄Fungi are being used to turn crop waste into bioethanol
🍄Products made from fungi can be used as replacements for polystyrene foam, leather and building materials
🍄Penicillin alone has multiple uses - in antibiotics, the contraceptive pill and cheese production

So fungi are pretty cool and have many many cool uses.

Day 16 - Planting our “pup”

Did you know that spider plant babies are known as “pups”? Neither did I until today. Not what I would have gone for but I like it. Grandma gave us one of her pups and we planted it in this little terracotta pot. Hopefully Pup will do well and enjoy loving next to Spikey (the cactus) and Peppa (the pepper plant). Do you name your plants? Speaking of which I will share a funny reel I saw yesterday in my stories.

Happy hump day everyone!
