🎭 Discover Rhyl Liberty Players: A Journey Through Theatre History 🎭
Do you love stories, costumes, colour, or local history? Then we’ve got something very special for you! From Tuesday 16th September, Rhyl Liberty Players will be unveiling a unique display of props, costumes, photographs, and old promotional memorabilia – at Rhyl Museum, upstairs in Rhyl Library, Church Street.
🕰️ A little bit about us:
The Liberty Players were founded back in 1942 — in war-time — when freedom was on everyone’s mind. That’s where our name comes from.
Since then, we’ve entertained Rhyl and visitors with festivals, classic comedies, dramas, Shakespeare, musical farce, and everything in between. We’ve performed in Town Hall, the Pavilion, the Coliseum Theatre — wherever we could find a stage and an audience.
📍 Why come see this display:
• It offers a rare peek behind the scenes: see the costumes, props, posters and memorabilia from decades of productions.
• It’s free and open during normal library/museum hours. Rhyl Library & Museum is a small gem — one large room of local history, with maritime, social & heritage exhibits.
• It’s cozy and welcoming. As autumn arrives and the weather turns colder, there’s no better place to pop in: warm, comfortable, with chairs/sofas, a chance to browse books or just wander through local history.
📅 When to visit:
From 16th September 2025 until mid‐January 2026
Location: Rhyl Library, Museum & Arts Centre, Church Street, Rhyl, LL18 3AA.
Free entry. Library opening times apply.
So whether you’re a long-time theatre fan, someone who loves local history, or just looking for a warm friendly place to spend an hour — do come! Share this post, bring a friend, and help us spread the word. We can’t wait to welcome you and show off the history and heart of the Liberty Players.
