HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHAT IS BENEATH THE WAVES IN ST.IVES BAY ? well watch 👀 this 😲 and you will find out 🤿 In order to keep the history of the 1854 S.S NILE disaster alive, I decided to make a mini documentary about the disaster 175 years after the fateful event. We finished it a year later, but hey ho ! Been a tad busy 😵‍💫 This was only possible with the expert help from Morag Robertson, Alban Roinard and Tony Mason. We hope you enjoy watching and learning

I am delighted that my latest sculpture ‘TEMPEST’ has been selected by the Penwith Gallery to be a part of the new associate members art exhibition which is currently showing GALLERY-TR26 1NL.

The sculpture is made from copper that has been recovered from the seabed and the wreck of the S.S. WILSTON, the Steamship was driven ashore at Wicca Pool, near Zennor during a ferocious storm on the 23rd of January 1939 - by pure coincidence the opening of this art exhibition was 23rd January 2026, the 87th anniversary of the WILSTON and St.Ives Lifeboat disaster - you can read the story that I have written about the disaster here:

Here’s my latest creation, it’s called ‘TEMPEST’ - I started this one at the tail end of 2025 and completed it early January 2026. It is made from copper steam pipe that has been recovered from the underwater world and from the wreck of S.S. WILSTON. Interestingly the recent storms and hurricane force winds were very similar weather conditions that caused the S.S. WILSTON to be wrecked in January 1939. It was also this ship that the St.Ives Lifeboat were trying to rescue when the St.Ives lifeboat disaster occurred 😢 - you can read the full story on my website (link in bio) or just Google Robin Langford Creations 👍

Following the sale of ‘Abandon Ship’ at the Penwith Gallery exhibition, my sculpture ‘Turbulent Seas 2’ is now on display at the gallery until 3rd January 2026. It is made from salvaged Cornish shipwreck copper that has been recovered from the underwater world and repurposed.
