What if history could be held between your fingers?
This February, I’m returning to Bankfield Museum to share a hands-on Victorian hairwork workshop, an invitation to slow down, gather, and make.
Join me on Saturday 21st February, 10.30–12.30, to learn the long-lost craft of creating Victorian hairwork flowers.
The session begins with a short talk exploring the historical context of hairwork, before moving into making together, strand by strand.
All tools and materials are provided (human or synthetic hair), with tea, coffee, and biscuits along the way. No prior experience needed, just curiosity.
You’ll also be able to view my original hairwork collection, currently on display as part of the In Loving Memory exhibition.
A space for touch, talk, and material memory.
Let’s unpick history together.
