An update on the progress of my next commission piece. I’m settling into painting what I imagined to be the hardest subjects to paint. I had barriers with painting skin, but I’m using different techniques to execute this. And I am actually enjoying it. Still more to do and then begin cross referencing the image for any adjustments.

Start of a new project commission. Not over shadowed in the sketch as this may affect the paint over the top. Happy with the progress so far. I’ve moved these gorgeous two closer together and made the pillar smaller, as it’s better balanced. ❤️❤️

This is my latest portrait, which is a surprise commission. I’ve had to hide my posts from certain people, so not to spoil the surprise. I have faith in you Facebook, don’t fail me now.
This portrait was much harder than I first thought with many layers created to bring out the lighter areas. This is the difficulty of painting in watercolour as a medium. The colours always need to be much darker than you with think, to bring the lighter areas out.
I’m very much looking forward to seeing how the surprise is received. This will be framed and mounted tomorrow.
I have a number of portraits lined up this May. But will be taking more in June.
