Here's a little bowl that I've pinched with black clay. Stoneware!
It came out of the last firing that I did, a glaze firing as it happens.
There's another one coming up to temperature right now, so I wait for that with bated breath..... the nearest thing I get to being an expectant mothe!
And know I have to be patient and wait till it cools down. As it happens it's not quite top temperature yet. Will be in the next few hours and it will soak (simmer) for half an hour at approximately 1260°. C and then it will take a whole day to cool down too say 50c or so which is about my Benchmark for lifting the lid. Of course that depends on the temperature outdoors and it will be quite warm this weekend. Well mid-20s maybe? A movement-based meditation inspired by nature.

These are Heron head handled spoons, inspired by the year of the Heron which is symbolic of patience, fortitude and resilience. Part of The Spirit of Awen camp that I was part of at the beginning of August, this is my 5th year and it was a pleasure to share my passion for ceramics and pottery. I called it sacred Pottery as it was a opportunity to introduce a more meditative approach to making getting people to slow down the process and be at one with the clay inspired by nature

This is a big bowl I made many years ago and I decided to make a little fountain and put my little balls in to hide the pump primarily to help any birds in the garden. Get some water and I hope the pump doesn't scare them away

The finishing touches putting my name on the base. I have a specific insignia that I scroll on my pots with the date and then it's finished. It's like the last thing I do and then I let it dry so they can be bisque fired.
And of course with this one I should be putting a semi translucent glaze.
