Inside the CORE — Can We Hear What We Lost (Kim Joon)

김준() 작가의 《사라진 소리》는 지난 10년간 여러 장소에서 기록한 소리와 이미지를 바탕으로 구성한 사운드 설치 작업이다. 작가는 도시와 자연 속에서 사라지거나 쉽게 지나칠 수 있는 작은 울림들에 귀 기울이며, 바람·암석·식물·물의 움직임과 공간의 기억을 소리로 기록해 왔다. 전시장에 놓인 사운드 상자와 오브제들은 강원도 산악지대, 뉴질랜드 남섬, 호주의 생태 환경, 그리고 인도네시아의 발리, 롬복, 브로모 산의 화산 지형에서 수집한 울림들을 담고 있다.

Kim Joon’s 𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘞𝘦 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘞𝘢𝘴 𝘓𝘰𝘴𝘵 is a sound installation built from recordings of sounds and images captured across multiple locations over the past decade. The artist has tuned in to small, fleeting resonances in urban and natural environments; sounds that disappear or pass unnoticed. He also documented the movements of wind, rock, plants, and water, along with the memory of spaces. The sound boxes and suspended objects in the exhibition contain recordings gathered from the mountains of Gangwon, New Zealand’s South Island, Australian ecosystems, and the volcanic landscapes of Bali, Lombok, and Mount Bromo.

인도네시아 작가 Dian Suci()가 제10회 Max Mara Art Prize for Women 수상자로 선정되었습니다.

Max Mara, Collezione Maramotti, Museum MACAN이 공동으로 발표한 이번 수상은 프리즈 큐레이터 Cecilia Alemani와 함께 진행되었습니다. 이 상은 커리어의 중요한 전환점에 있는 신진 및 중견 작가를 지원하기 위해 설립되었으며, Dian Suci에게는 Collezione Maramotti가 기획한 6개월간의 이탈리아 레지던시가 주어집니다. 레지던시는 작가가 심사위원단에 제안한 프로젝트를 중심으로 맞춤 구성됩니다.

이 여정의 결실은 2027년 여름 자카르타 Museum MACAN에서의 개인전으로 이어지며, 같은 해 가을에는 이탈리아 레조에밀리아의 Collezione Maramotti에서도 선보일 예정입니다. 전시 작품은 Collezione Maramotti가 소장할 계획입니다.

Indonesian artist Dian Suci has been named the winner of the tenth edition of the Max Mara Art Prize for Women.

The award was jointly announced by Max Mara, Collezione Maramotti, and Museum MACAN, alongside prize curator Cecilia Alemani. Established to support emerging and mid-career artists at a pivotal point in their careers, the prize offers Dian Suci a six-month residency in Italy, organized by Collezione Maramotti and tailored around the project she proposed to the jury.

This journey culminates in a solo exhibition at Museum MACAN in Jakarta in the summer of 2027, followed by a presentation at Collezione Maramotti in Reggio Emilia, Italy that autumn. The works will become part of the Collezione Maramotti collection.

Working against the prevailing current, James Jean creates surreal landscapes that resist fixed interpretation, unfolding a layered dialogue between Eastern and Western mythologies. Rather than replicating historical references, Jean reconfigures them into new symbolic possibilities.

Sintila is a meditation on longing and the quiet recognition of what is often lost in the acceleration of the modern world. Within each work lies a subtle spark, inviting renewed awareness of the fragile, imperfect, and deeply human act of creation.

Lies Kraal은 불필요한 요소를 덜어내고 색과 표면의 관계에 집중하며, 물감을 반복해 쌓고 갈아내는 과정을 통해 깊이를 축적합니다. 정제된 화면 안에서 색이 흡수되고 반사되며 관람자의 시선과 움직임에 따라 미묘한 변화를 만들어냅니다. 작가는 작품 속 미세한 능선을 ‘speed bump’라고 말하며, 시선이 잠시 쉬어가기를 제안합니다.
이스턴에디션 아틀리에에서 Lies Kraal의 작품에 고요히 몰입하며, 온전한 휴식을 경험해보시기 바랍니다.

As part of the collaborative exhibition between Baik Art and Eastern Edition, Lies Kraal presents her work within the space.
Lies Kraal pares each work down to its essential elements, attending closely to the relationship between color and surface. Through the repeated acts of layering and sanding paint, Kraal allows depth to gather slowly within the work. Inside these refined planes, color is absorbed and released again, creating subtle shifts that respond to the viewer’s gaze and movement. The artist refers to the delicate ridges that emerge across the surface as “speed bumps,” gently inviting the eye to slow and rest.
At the Eastern Edition Atelier, we invite you to quietly settle into the presence of Lies Kraal’s work and experience a moment of rest.

Baik Art participated in the media art fair Loop Plus held in Busan with artist Chu Mirim.
Artist Chu Mirim was selected for the ’2026 Media Screening‘ program conducted as part of Loop Plus. Screened on the media wall at Grand Josun Busan in Haeundae, this exhibition created a new scene as the video work engaged with the urban architectural environment.
