Drogheda Museum One of Ireland's leading local museums with dazzling arrays of historical artefacts and guided tours

It is the oldest surviving centre of settlement in the town with a dramatic history and many stories to tell. The whole fort is now the Millmount Cultural Quarter with artists studios, craft shops and art galleries.

6pm official opening of Corey Davenport Photography 'Silence & Stone' exhibition in our Jim Garry Room

7.30pm to 8.30pm we welcome back Hup! who will play a few traditional tunes.

Free admission to museum and tower from 5pm to 9pm
Please note that the tower will close at 8pm!

Join us for this year's Culture Night on Friday 18 September 2026 from 5pm to 9pm.

6pm official opening of Corey Davenport Photography 'Silence & Stone' exhibition in our Jim Garry Room.

7.30pm to 8.30pm we welcome back Hup! who will play a few traditional tunes.

Culture Night 2026 at Drogheda Museum Millmount

As part of this year's Culture Night, we are delighted to welcome Corey Davenport to the museum. He will be opening his 'Stone & Silence' photography exhibition in the Jim Garry Room @ 6pm. Corey has successfully held his first solo photography exhibition in Virginia Library, Co Cavan as part of their Heritage Week celebrations.

Heritage week at Millmount

Join us on Sunday 23rd of August 2026 from 1pm until 5pm for our Family Fun Day.

At 2.30pm Shane Heeney will be giving a talk from the courtyard about the history, buildings and the families in Millmount.

At 3.30pm local band Hup! will be playing live in the courtyard.

Kid Zone play area and face painting, ice cream van, tea and coffee on the day plus Museum and Tower open all day.

Heritage Week 2026 at Millmount

Shane Heeney, Secretary of the Old Drogheda Society will be talking about his new findings about the former residents of Millmount. He has done continuous research on the history of the buildings and the families of Millmount.

Join Shane for his ‘Millmount Memories Talk’ on
Wednesday, 19th of August 2026 at 7.30pm in the Martello Room in the Governor’s House.

Donations always gratefully appreciated on the night.

This will be a great opportunity to see rare pre-war cars up close.

History Walk

Community Historian Brendan Matthews will present the next History & Heritage Walk n Talk on Wednesday July 8th at 7.30pm.

Starting outside the old Abbey Shopping Centre in West Street Brendan will take you along Narrow West Street to the Old Abbey Lane, down Patrick’s Well Lane and along Dominick Street and Wellington Quay. Finishing up just after 8.30pm at the former Bru Cafe overlooking the Boyne River at the foot of Stockwell Lane at the Haymart.

Free event - all are welcome to attend.

Donations welcome for the further research and presentation of living history.
