A memorial service at Glasnevin cemetery has been held to remember Michael Collins and Arthur Griffith, who died just days apart from each other in August 1922.

General Michael Collins and President Arthur Griffith remembered at 100th annual Collins / Griffith Commemoration at Glasnevin Cemetery.

The event is one of the oldest commemorations in the history of the state and takes place today at noon

The Collins/Griffith Commemoration Society is delighted to announce that the Sliabh na mBan armoured car will be at 100th Commemoration of General Michael Collins and President Arthur Griffith on Sunday. The Sliabh na mBan formed part of General Michael Collins’ convoy which was ambushed on 22nd of August 1922 at Béal na mBláth in West Cork resulting in the tragic death of General Collins.
