What a beautiful film …. big shout out to Photography by Lissette Carcamo who produced a beautiful short film on the life and times of Fr Joseph Mullooly - from Rathcline to Rome which played to a hugely appreciative crowd in the Pier Inn tonight . Thanks also to Denis Glennon, Fr Turlough and Declan Foxe and family for hosting the event so well in a great parish venue - that has been open since the days of Fr Joseph and his parents Gilbert and Brigid in 1813 as these old photos on the Pier confirm . Lissette put huge work into the film and should be very proud of the reaction tonight. A super production 👏👏

Last Wednesday in St Peter’s Square in Rome his Holiness Pope Leo XIV honoured the memory of Fr Joseph Mullooly a Longford man who excavated Basilica San Clemente in the 1800s. The Holy Father was presented with a beautiful wooden crucifix carved from an ash tree at Fr Joseph’s Ancestral home in County Longford by the woodturner Willie Creighton . Our family was deeply honoured to be in St Peter’s square for this special personal occasion - ending a weekend of commemoration for Fr Joseph led by the European Commission Ambasssdor to the Holy See and HE Frances Collins the Irish Ambasssdor to the Holy See. Thank you to everyone who flew in from Ireland for a truly memorable event. We had dozens of family connections there and special thanks to
Bishop Paul Connell
of the diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise and Fr Turlough Baxter PP.
