My work focuses on exploring spaces of transition, where human perception resides in a twilight zone between everyday physical reality and realms of magic, imagination, and memory. I work with a variety of materials that enable the blending and blurring of the boundaries between both worlds. Drawing pencils which allow numerous shades of grey, color pencils that merge with oil paints producing cle
ar edges and soft patches, thus producing precise texture alongside ambiguous formality. Gold leaf accentuation illuminating fragments of reflections from the actual surroundings. Working in series allows evolving layers of meaning, revealed in the spaces between works. By mixing fact with fiction and bringing together biography and culture, I aspire to create visual moments of silence and reflection in a hectic and chaotic world.
