Not a call-out, a call for Craft Preservation

In a world where traditional crafts are rapidly digitised and replicated,
itā€™s time we pause and ask:

šŸ‘‰ Who benefits?
šŸ‘‰ Who disappears?

Because every time a craft is reduced to a surface design,
we donā€™t just simplify it, we strip away the hands, the history and the communities behind it.

And when that happens at scale,
what we lose isnā€™t just technique.

Itā€™s livelihood.
Itā€™s identity.
Itā€™s legacy.

India has the highest number of artisans in the world and the onus lies with us to preserve our crafts and support our people.

Why we insist on saying Woman Artisan

In spaces like ours ā€˜artisanā€™ is often assumed to be a man.
That was never accidental.

Patriarchy shaped that assumption.

The system made space for her labour not for her identity.

We will continue to say it until it no longer needs saying.
