We see loads of wildlife on the farm but are normally too busy trying to grow food to spend time getting a picture. However, sometimes we do. Today, a butterfly, the Marbled White. As someone once said on you way to hoe the leeks, take time to look at the butterflies.

Image taken last night just before the heavens opened. In the spirit of ‘where’s Wally’, one of our many hares cowers in some leeks trying to figure out what the large thunderclap signifies.

To help keep yourself safe from the effects of ticks while enjoying the outdoors, here are some of the things you can do:

- Stick to clearly defined paths and avoid long grass
- Wear long trousers
- Use insect repellent
- Regularly check for ticks

If you spot a tick, they should be carefully removed using tick removal tool or fine tipped tweezers to remove it, as soon as possible.

Ticks are tiny spider-like creatures that attach themselves to animals and sometimes people to feed.

If you’ve been bitten or have recently spent time outdoors and develop an unusual rash or start to feel unwell, contact your GP.

We're sharing this advice as some tick bites may result in an infection called Lyme Disease.
