⭐ STRATURDAY WITH THE TONETEAM ⭐

🎸 Straturday got even better today with a visit from our ToneTeam luthier . He stopped by with the incredible left-handed Fender L-Series Stratocaster he recently completed, received a 7-54 Stratocaster neck that needs some finish work, and wrapped up the setup on a few other guitars currently passing through the workshop.

🔧 It’s always great to spend time discussing the details of ongoing projects and seeing these vintage instruments move one step closer to being ready for their next chapter.

⭐ AN HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE ON THE CEASE AND DESIST DEBATE ⭐

Imagine being a small, “boutique” builder that receives a cease and desist letter by a bigger, strong and influential company. Imagine the feeling, and the impossibility to compete on a legal ground. What’s the best thing to do in this case ?

Well a certain Leo Fender was exactly that same small builder that had to face a request by the Fred Gretsch company in 1951, and he had to drop the name of his most important creation of the time, and that just for a similarity in the name of their drum kit not even a guitar.

Well Leo dropped the name and invented a better one.

The Stratocaster shape has been designed by one very guy with the help of his team, and that guy is Leo Fender.
If finally the Fender company is strong enough to defend his historic designs we all should be happy, and the builder should do like Leo did, go on and Invent something different and maybe better. Leo did the same when he went with MusicMan and G&L.

⭐️ 1965 LEFTY L-SERIES RESCUE — PART TWO ⭐️

🎨 After restoring the structural integrity of this rare Fender Stratocaster body, it was finally time for bringing it back to its factory-correct 3-Tone Sunburst finish.

🪵 Historical accuracy is everything in restorations like this. Matteo carefully sampled the exact yellow stain intensity still preserved deep inside the original cavities, allowing us to recreate the same hue gradient and overall vibe of the original mid-60s Fender formula.

🔥 Having an original early-1966 Stratocaster in the shop as a live reference made the process even more precise. The sunburst was then sprayed with the correct “pre-faded” red band, carefully matched to the vintage example sitting right next to it.

✨ The final ambered topcoats are what truly brought this body back to life, adding that unmistakable golden-era depth and warmth that only a properly aged vintage-style finish can deliver.

❓Would you have guessed this was the same body from part one?
