FONDAZIONE STAZIONE DELL'ARTE ULASSAI
🚂 La Stazione dell’arte e il Camuc sono il punto di arrivo dell’ambizioso progetto che Maria Lai e il paese di Ulassai hanno coltivato per oltre un ventennio.
⛰ Un lungo viaggio, partito dal magico evento di Legarsi alla montagna, che ha avuto come protagonista, l’intera comunità ulassese. Da quel lontano 1981 altri interventi si sono susseguiti, a testimon
ianza dell’intenso legame che l’artista mantiene con il suo paese di origine, fino alla decisione di donare al comune una parte significativa della sua ricerca che è stata raccolta ed esposta negli spazi della Fondazione. Cosi Ulassai, da paese simbolo dell’isolamento della regione ogliastrina, e diventato uno dei centri di aggregazione culturale dell’isola. La Stazione dell’Arte occupa i tre caseggiati della vecchia stazione ferroviaria che fu costruita poco fuori del paese, su un piano che domina la vallata.
🎼 Gli spazi sono stati ristrutturati in un museo d’arte contemporanea, che non si limita ad accogliere le opere donate dall’artista, ma si apre ad altre discipline come la musica e il teatro e in particolare, si impegna in un importante lavoro di educazione alla lettura delle opere d’arte. 🚂 The “Stazione dell’arte” is the result of the ambitious project which Maria Lai and the Ulassai villagers have worked on for over twenty years.
⛰ A long journey, which had as its protagonist not only the artist but also the entire community of Ulassai. Since 1981 a number of events have taken place, as proof of the strong bond between the artist and her country of origin, including the decision to donate to the project museum a significant part of her works. As a result, from being an isolated village in the Ogliastra region, Ulassai has become a cultural community centre of Sardinia. The “Stazione dell’arte” occupies the three buildings of the old train station located just outside the village, on a plateau overlooking the valley and the picturesque and fascinating road.
🎼 Renovation has transformed the space into a modern Museum of Contemporary Art, which it is not only confined to the work donated by the artist but it is also open to other disciplines such as music and theatre, and it is particularly committed to working towards educating and interpretation of the works of art.
