RUMI KURAJI
調和 — UNISSON

WORK

WORK

Rumi Kuraji transforms vintage and antique obi, traditional Japanese kimono sashes, into canvases. Incorporating their intricate patterns and gold and silver threads, she reinterprets Japanese aesthetics through a colorful, playful and contemporary perspective.

PROFILE

After beginning her career in television, Rumi Kuraji started painting independently following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Inspired by nature, animals and Edo-period culture, she launched a new series in 2023 using antique obi as canvases, bringing new life to traditional Japanese textiles.

WORK

Aiko Sakamoto explores light, nature and the energy of living things through reflections on water, sunlight and botanical shadows.

She combines traditional Nihonga techniques — Japanese paper, mineral pigments and metallic leaf — with three-dimensional elements.

Her handcrafted Japanese paper butterflies create shifting shadows and reflections, forming a dialogue between painting and sculpture.

PROFILE

Born in Tokyo in 1977, Aiko Sakamoto earned her Master’s degree in Japanese Painting from Tama Art University in 2003.

She has exhibited in Japan and internationally, including ART TAIPEI and exhibitions in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

In 2026, her works were presented at Ninna-ji Temple in Kyoto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as part of the Omuro Art Festival.

Tokyo10 — Zoltán Krizsán

Tokyo10 — Zoltán Krizsán

The pulse of Tokyo, its stillness, and its ever-changing light.

“Tokyo10” is inspired by the energy of Tokyo and Zoltán Krizsán’s encounters with Japanese culture.

Tradition and the ultra-contemporary. Stillness and movement.

His glass works transform with light and perspective, while his practice expands across paintings, glass, lamps and tables — exploring art not only as something to observe, but something to live with.
