In “Luz y Sombra,” Anya Belyaevskaya guides us through a deeply personal exploration of her fractured selves. In the first room, acrylic oil paintings on transparent plexiglass form abstract figures, people dissolving and reappearing through migration, each one a version of Anya shaped by the places she has inhabited. These figures exist in a state of transition, never fixed, always becoming.
In the second room, these fragments shift into landscapes. The works float and overlap, forming a diagonal structure that resembles a mountain, a gathering of territories and experiences. Here, the body dissolves into land, into ecosystems where survival and adaptation take place, reflecting both her journey and a shared condition.
In the final room, a universe unfolds through light. Three illuminated forms project reflections that expand across the space, suggesting movement, distance, and connection. The exhibition opens into a wider understanding of coexistence, where individual histories merge into something collective, reminding us that we all move within the same systems, constantly adapting, constantly becoming.
