Maharani Jind Kaur (c. 1817–1863) was the youngest wife of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and the mother of Maharaja Duleep Singh. Known for her beauty and political acumen. As regent, she fiercely resisted British control, leading to her imprisonment and exile in 1849. After over a decade of separation, she reunited with her son in 1861 and moved to England, where she died in 1863. Her ashes were later interred at Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s samadh in Lahore. She remains a symbol of defiance and resilience in Sikh history.

In the heart of Punjab, during the golden era of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, lived a queen whose name is whispered through the corridors of time. Draped in regal elegance, she embodied strength, grace, and resilience in a world of political alliances and empire-building. As a silent pillar behind the Lion of Punjab, she witnessed the rise of a powerful Sikh Empire, navigating the delicate balance between tradition and change. Her story remains largely untold, yet her legacy endures in the vibrant spirit of Punjab. An anonymous maharani, a forgotten jewel, still shining through.
