The Young has grown excellently well to the glory of God!πŸ™πŸ½
It was such a joy to see another one of the alumni of Arch.Franchesca Majekodunmi after over a decade!
We met at the National Museum, Onikan during the reopening of the newly renovated gallery.

On sighting me, she said, "Sir, your face looks familiar!" I said the same thing to her...
However, at the mention of Young At Art, both of us remembered!
Such a beautiful reunion.
It is always joyful for me whenever I see former members of Young At Art Children Creative Workshop!

LET THE CHILDREN COME UNTO ME!
"Allow the children come to me..." Even those who are not Christians know that Jesus Christ is the author of this injunction, which was a response to His disciples who felt that children had no business in His ministry, or coming to disturb Him where old people were busy dealing with "serious issues"In the book of Mark 10: 13-15 Jesus emphasized the importance of children in His ministry and their place in the Kingdom!
I can say without any atom of doubt that I was divinely led to institute the YOUNG AT ART CHILDREN/ TEENAGERS CREATIVE WORKSHOP in 2003!
Sure, it was a response to my own childhood challenges of not having the appropriate support or mentoring from the adults around me then, especially my parents. I was flogged several times for "defacing" the walls with my "yanmayanma" and "jagajaga" drawings.
I was even "deported" from Ibadan back to Owo for "destroying" a freshly plastered new building with my charcoal graffiti on the walls. That was then!
Now, the workshop has been running consistently with different improvements every year for twenty two (22) years. Thanks to all the amazing Facilitators who have been part of the Young At Art team till date. We don't just teach Art in Young At Art, we mentor children and amplify their creative potential!
Through, our programs and workshops, parents now appreciate the gifts and talents of their children and have been supporting them to achieve excellence. No wonder that we can boast of 19 First Class graduates in different disciplines especially in Architecture, Industrial Designs, Visual & Creative Art and the sciences!
As the founder of Young At Art I have had the privilege of meeting and connecting with the parents of the children and some distinguished people in the society. The Young At Art gave me the opportunity to consult for the British Council, Lagos, and later travelled to the UK to go for further training at the University College, London (UCL) in 2014.
I had the privilege of interacting closely with the late Professor Yusuf Grillo who gave me and the children access to his painting studio at his residence on Ogunlowo street, off Obafemi Awolowo way, Ikeja, Lagos

TESTIMONY OF A MOTHER WHO SUPPORTED HER SON THROUGH THICK AND THIN DESPITE HIS COGNITIVE LEARNING CHALLENGE!
YOUNG AT ART IS PROUD TO BE PART OF THIS BEAUTIFUL STORY!

God's goodness looks good on us!!!!

Moyosore successfully completed his course in Computer Animation despite living with cognitive, speech, and hearing impairments.

My deep desire to give our son a meaningful life despite disabilities led to the discovery of the gift of God in him, the ability to draw and paint πŸ–Ό πŸ˜€!!!

Our search for institutions in Nigeria led us to Omolayo Gallery, where Mr. Omolayo personally mentored Moyosore, and his painting skills became more professional.

Moyo left Nigeria in January 2021 to study and explore opportunities in Canada.

He subsequently got accepted into the Loyalist College from where he graduated πŸŽ“ on Wednesday, June 10, 2025.

Moyosore has held two successful art shows here and is a member of the Belleville Arts Association.

Big thanks to the Omolayo Gallery for being a part of Moyo's journey.

"TINUBU EATING GALA!"
Mixed Media Painting
By Tito Kuti

Year: 2004

POLITICS, LEADERSHIP & ART!
This painting was done by a young boy (now a man) in 2004 as a member of Young At Art Children Creative Workshop at our Ikeja studio.
The children were coached on how to observe their society, their immediate environment and what is happening around them to create their artworks, because their artworks must be relevant, topical and relatable!
So, young Tito Kuti looked around and saw the discarded Gala wrap that was more of an environmental nuisance, picked it up and decided to use it as a collage on his drawing of Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Lagos State then who is coincidentally the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria now .
As simple as the painting is, its relevance to the environment, creative education, politics and leadership makes it unique, topical and evergreen!

15 years ago during the Children's Day celebration we invited JENIFA to come and spend quality time with the children of Young At Art. Surprisingly she did not collect a dime from us for the appearance and time!( The least we would have paid could be over .) In addition, she brought in gifts and CDs of her movies and gave everyone a gift each.
We couldn't let her go without reciprocating that uncommon gesture. So we took her to our gallery to pick any painting of her choice. Again, she surprised us by picking a medium sized painting instead of going for the giant one.

As we commence another edition of the Young At Art Children/Teenagers Creative Workshop for this mid-term break, we are using this medium to say a BIG THANK YOU! πŸ™πŸ½ to Olufunke Akindele - JENIFA
