🗿 Bjørnesteinen – A Sami Sacred Site at Mortensnes 🐻
Did you know that Bjørnesteinen in Nesseby is probably more than just a stone? This natural rock formation resembles a bear guarding the sacrificial ring below and the Varanger Fjord.
In Sami belief, the bear was sacred.
Legends tell of a bear cub adopted by the people of Mortensnes, and the stone may have been connected to rituals involving shaman drums and animal fat. A living reminder of 10,000 years of Sami culture! 🌊✨

Somewhere in the North there is a place where tourism is not a checklist. It is a ritual.

Troll Havn is a cultural hub on the land of the Sami people, where ancient knowledge meets the present.

The shaman is not an attraction. Nature is not a backdrop. You are not a guest. You are part of a living process.

This is regenerative tourism: you leave transformed, and the place is healed.
Watch what the shaman has to say.

Do you see "Troll"?

Tourism today is often built around repetition.
The same formats, the same experiences, the same stories, but in different locations.

In Northern Norway, the land itself tells another story.

The word Troll appears on the map here. Not as a decoration, but as a reminder of ancient forces, folklore, and memory woven into the landscape.

This creates a rare opportunity: to build a form of tourism with a true cultural identity.

Troll Havn is an attempt to do exactly that.
Not to imitate, but to create.
Not to entertain, but to invite into an experience where nature, myth, and human presence meet.
We believe tourism can carry meaning.
That places can speak.
And that when we listen carefully, something authentic is born.

Welcome to Troll Havn — a new and distinctive destination in Northern Norway.

Our concept brings together folklore, nature, art, and shamanic short retreats, including participation in authentic Sámi shamanic rituals.
Here, ancient legends do not remain stories, they become lived experience.

At Troll Havn, guests encounter trolls, feel the raw power of nature, and immerse themselves in ancient beliefs shared by traditional Sámi shamans.

You may play the shamanic drum, journey into a dreamlike inner landscape, and gather around an open fire to enjoy tea and food prepared from local ingredients.

Our vision is to create a place where stories come alive,
and where every guest connects with the true spirit of the North.

Yes.
We are a team of slightly crazy people
who decided to create a fairytale.

🌿 Troll Havn is being created in Northern Norway.
