The First Batangas City PAINTING COMPETITION 2014
The Painting Competition will be divided in to the following categories:
I. National Student Category

III. SCHEDULE

Jan. 8, 2014 – Submission of entries at the Art Association of the Philippines Office (AAP), Rizal Park, Manila. (Mayors Office will provide logistics and support staff of 10 persons from the Mayors office to Kunst Gallery)

Time :

9am to 4 pm

6:00 pm – Selection of 10 Finalists per Category

Venue – AAP Kanlungan ng Sining, Rizal Park, Manila
• Entries that are not chosen as finalists could be retrieved after announcement of finalists

Jan. 11, 2014 – Exhibit Opening of the 20 Finalists together with the Photo Exhibit Opening
- Judging and Awarding Ceremonies
• Transpo by bus of judges, Kunst Artists and 20 finalists to and from Manila (will be provided by the city government)
• Meeting point – Buendia corner Taft Ave, Manila (Buendia LRT Station)

IV. PRIZES

A. Professional Division and Non- Professional Category – National Level
1st Prize – Php 50k and trophy
2nd Prize – Php 30k and trophy
3rd Prize – 10k and trophy
7 Jurors Prizes – Php 10k each


B. Student Category – National Level
1st Prize – Php 30k and trophy
2nd Prize – Php 20k and trophy
3rd Prize – Php 10k and trophy
7 Jurors Prizes – Php 5k each


• All 20 finalist artworks will be the property of Batangas CityGovernment

• Please check our page for details and research thru google or the Batangas City Government website. Size of painting will be 2 feet by 3 feet, horizontal or panoramic orientation, done in acrylic or oil on canvas,( museum wrapped) or watercolor on paper, framed with glass and ready for hanging

Representation of Theme – 30%
Conceptualization – 30%
Composition – 30%
Overall Impact – 10%
Total – 100%
VI. Materials to be brought by artists
2 feet x 3 feet museum wrapped and primed canvas or acid free paper
Medium to be Used (Acrylic or Oil Paints or watercolor)
Theme : “DANGAL ng Lungsod BATANGUENO” (Honor of Batangas City)
Sublian Festival and Batangas City History and other pertinent documents to be provided by the Batangas City Government

Selection of 10 finalists bothfor the Professional and Student division of the contest were done lasyt Jan. 8, 2014 at the 3rd floor, ICAM room of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts Bldg., Intramuros Manila. Submission of entries started at :00am and ended 4:00 pm. Our panel of judges were Anthony Palomo, Consul General Julius Flores, Lino Acasio, Atty. Victor Reginald Dimacuha and Rafael Cusi. The judges were asked to select 3 choices from each category and defend their choices before coming up with the 10 finalists.

Map to the Submission Venue coming from Buendia corner Taft passing by Roxas Blvd. Alternate route is xoming from Taft ave riding a jeep from Buendia ave taking the Mabini route jeep and going down at Intramuros. Another route is to take the pier jeep from Quiapo and go down at Manila Cathedral. NCCA is just a sort walk away and is near San Agustin Church. See you!
