Celebrating International Museum Day 2026

Lahore Museum proudly invites scholars, students, cultural practitioners, and the public to a two-day conference centered around this year’s global theme: “Museums Uniting a Divided World.”

Through thought-provoking panel discussions, meaningful conversations, and international collaboration, the event will explore the evolving role of museums as spaces for inclusion, representation, peacebuilding, and cultural partnership.

Join us on 17–18 May 2026 as distinguished speakers and experts come together to discuss how museums can bridge communities and preserve living heritage for future generations.

Highlights from today’s International Museum Day 2026 celebrations at Lahore Museum as we proudly commenced a special series of commemorative events marking the 80th Anniversary of ICOM.

The day featured inspiring opening remarks by Rukhsana David, President ICOM Pakistan, followed by a documentary screening, certificate distribution ceremonies for the Hindi Language Course and Marka-E-Haq Bunyan Ul Marsoos Painting Competition, and engaging heritage activities for children under the Young Heritage Explorers programme.

Highlights from today’s International Museum Day 2026 celebrations at Lahore Museum as we proudly commenced a special series of commemorative events marking the 80th Anniversary of ICOM.

The day featured inspiring opening remarks by Rukhsana David, President ICOM Pakistan, followed by a documentary screening, certificate distribution ceremonies for the Hindi Language Course and Marka-E-Haq Bunyan Ul Marsoos Painting Competition, and engaging heritage activities for children under the Young Heritage Explorers programme.

Visitors also participated in interactive experiences including mini painting kits, portable heritage puzzle sets, guided gallery tours, quizzes, and spinning wheel activities, making the celebration a vibrant and memorable experience for all ages.
