⚜️ Baule/Baoulé "Blolo Bla" sculpture that belonged to the Parisian collection of Henri Descazeaux (1904-2000) with a great dark honey patina and traces of organic substances (likely blood). It also still retains the original white glass beads laces in the waist and knees

⚜️ Work of a master sculptor easily recognizable for imbuing his works with an intense introspective expression, accentuated by the treatment of the large, bulbous eyes with their absent gaze, clearly giving the piece that mystical aspect of a vessel containing a spirit from beyond, which is what statues like Blolo bla and bian must possess.

⚜️ The hallmarks of this master sculptor Baulé are the triple scarification on each side of the mouth, the parallel lines on the neck, and the bulbous relief of the wrist and ankle bones.

⚜️ This sculpture is registered in the AHDRC with number 0224796 / We can find works from the same master in the AHDRC with reference numbers: 0058159, 0058824, 017041.
