A little glimpse from the exhibition in Alicante, Spain. 🇪🇸

It always means something special to see my artwork leave the studio and become part of a gallery space.

I'm especially grateful for the thoughtful curation of this exhibition.
Every artwork has been given space to breathe, with beautiful lighting and careful placement.
It makes such a difference—for both the artwork and the visitor's experience.

🌸 Happy Midsummer from Sweden! 🇸🇪

Today we're celebrating Midsummer – one of Sweden's most beloved traditions. Originally, it was a celebration of the summer solstice, nature, light, and new life.

My painting I Am a Part of Their Steps is a tribute to my roots in Dalarna.
If you look closely, you'll even find a traditional Swedish Midsummer pole hidden within the artwork. 💙💛

Today we'll be celebrating with my father, my little sister, and her family.

Whether you're celebrating Midsummer or simply enjoying your Friday wherever you are in the world, I wish you a beautiful day filled with light, joy, and moments to remember. 🌸✨

Hi and welcome — here you can get to know a little more about me and my artistic world. 🤍

My name is Yvonne Arvidsson and I’m a mixed media artist based in Stockholm, Sweden.

I started painting more seriously in 2022 during a period in life where I needed something creative and meaningful. What began as curiosity slowly turned into a deep passion for creating.

Over the years I’ve experimented freely with many different materials, techniques, textures, and ways of working. I don’t like to limit myself too much creatively — I follow intuition, emotion, and the feeling I want an artwork to carry.

Some works are fully hand-painted from the beginning, while others evolve through photography, collage, layered materials, textures, acrylics, drawing, and mixed media techniques. I love transformation, storytelling, atmosphere, and building emotional worlds through layers.

For me, art has become less about perfection and more about exploration, freedom, and creating something that feels alive.

She’s Crossing Over

This work began from a reimagined image of myself — younger, suspended somewhere between memory, fear, freedom and transformation.

My work rarely begins with the idea of simply creating a painting.
It begins with building a world.
I work in layers — combining photography, collage, texture, paint, fragments, atmosphere and emotion until something starts to breathe on its own.

Water has always carried something deeply personal for me.
As a child, I feared the deep.
Later, it became freedom.

Here, she is not sinking.
She is crossing over. 🌊

The cards are folded/double-sided, approximately 15 × 21 cm, and come with envelopes 🤍

Something very beautiful happened today.

Even before the exhibition in Denmark has officially opened, people have already stopped in front of my artworks, looked closely, and some even said they would like to come back again.

Moments like that mean more than I can explain.

As an artist, you spend so much time alone with your work — building layer after layer, emotion after emotion — never really knowing how it will be received once it leaves your hands and enters the world.

To hear that people connect with it, feel something, become curious, or want to return… it honestly moves me deeply.

A heartfelt thank you to Patricia Cancelo, who continues to support my work and create beautiful opportunities for it internationally. 🤍
