πŸŒ™βœ¨ Chalk & Pastel Radiance! βœ¨πŸŒ™
My amazing Kindergarten and 1st grade artists explored cool colors this week β€” blending from light to dark with chalk and pastel to create a radiant night sky. 🌌
We painted glowing moons in the center, then added silhouette trees and picket fences to complete the scene. 🌳🎨
I love how each piece turned out so unique β€” such imagination and heart from my little artists! πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ’š

Our Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade students at Kennedy Primary came together last week to create a beautiful mural in honor of Art Week and Constitution Day! πŸŽ¨πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
The mural will stay up for a while, and we’ll continue to bring it out on special occasions like Constitution Day and Veterans Dayβ€”a lasting reminder of the creativity and spirit of our young artists.
This project reminds me of a similar mural I led at Eisenhower with the 4th and 5th graders featuring President Eisenhower, and it’s amazing to see how art connects students of all ages to history and community.

September 11 is always an important day to me. It is now called patriot Day so my classes focused on painting the American flag in remembrance of September 11, 2001.

This year marks my 7th year teaching art, and for the first time, I get to focus solely on doing what I love most: teaching just art.

Art has always been my passion, but being able to pour all of my energy into helping young students create, explore, and express themselves in a safe environment through it is truly a dream come true. Watching their creativity come alive reminds me why I started this journey in the first place.

While I’m guiding my students through their creative growth, I’m also still growing myself, working toward finishing my degree, raising two incredible middle schoolers, and leaning on the support of a boyfriend who has been by my side through every challenge and every win. Brandon Dean Adams

This year is about grace, presence, purpose, and passion. I’m showing my students and my children that no matter where you are in life, it’s never too late to chase what lights you up.
