Driven by widespread public health concerns over typhoid in the region, the newly incorporated town built a system that included a well, tower, tank, pumping station, and water mains to cover the village.

Visit the new display at the History Center! In 1988, the Southland Rebels won the Minnesota Class A State Softball Championship, defeating Brandon-Evansville 4-0 at Whitney Field in St. Cloud. They ended the season undefeated 24-0. This was Southland Softball’s first-ever state title. Thank you to Jenny Mullenbach Ellefson for her contributions to this collection.

The first recorded organization in Adams was the Ancient Order of United Workmen (AOUW). It was a fraternal organization in the United States and Canada, providing mutual social and financial support after the American Civil War. Entertainment for the citizens of Adams and its surrounding area consisted of dances, medicine shows, plays, silent movies, talkies, and vaudeville. Adams High School basketball games were played in the Capitol Theatre until the high school gym was built in 1936.
