Now open in UNG Gainesville's Roy C. Moore Gallery: Six Uncut Keys to a Paint Store: Recent Work by Michael Dwyer. This exhibition will be on view through November 1.

The Oconee Art Gallery has now opened the first exhibition of the season: Jeanne Whatley: Flight Path. Athens based painter Jeanne Whatley won the best in show award during the Reciprocal III: OCAF Members at UNG exhibition last year. Her work explores the role of hope in the human condition and considers, with interest and wonder, those who move along uncertain paths, toward unknowable futures. The exhibition title, Flight Path¸ refers to the borderless freedom of a bird’s flight. Often she shows migrations of people from this bird’s eye view as they move in abstract shapes. For her, hope takes shape in this movement. There will be an artist talk and reception on September 20 from 2 - 4 p.m. This event is free and open to all.

The 2017 - 2018 exhibition season is opening August 30 on the Gainesville campus with Tiny Enormous: Art Exploring Microbes. The Gainesville Gallery got a make over during the summer and we are excited to begin installing this fascinating exhibition collaborating with UNG's Biology department
