Gobble Gobble!

Turkeys, like all modern birds, evolved from theropod dinosaurs. Theropods are a group of bipedal dinosaurs that includes famous species like Tyrannosaurus rex and Velociraptor. The evolutionary lineage that led to birds, known as avian dinosaurs, split from other theropod lineages during the late Jurassic period, around 150 million years ago. This fascinating transition marked the emergence of various adaptations, such as feathers and flight, leading to the birds we see today, including turkeys. So today, you're not just eating turkey; you're enjoying the 3,500,000 generation of the Theropods!
