The Grundy family were well-traveled. Their journeys took them to all “four corners of the globe” for business and leisure. In addition to their travels, they were well read. One can see their vast collection of books in the Museum.

One of the books in the Grundy Family Collection, is the illustrated edition of Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne, 1876. On an interior page, Joseph R. Grundy added his name and a date, January 1883. A significant year for him, as he turned 20 years old.

For the past two years, we have been planting trees on the Grundy Campus, selecting varieties that thrive in our region while adding beauty and interest to the landscape. Each year, around Arbor Day, we invite the community to join us in this growing tradition. This year we planted at Snow Fountains Weeping Cherry – Prunus 'Snofoazm.'

Our program focuses not only on planting, but also on education—sharing best practices for tree care and offering engaging, family-friendly materials for all who attend.

The Grundy Library and Museum are grateful for our continued partnership with the Garden Club of Bristol Borough, Penn State Master Gardeners, Heritage Conservancy, and everyone who contributed plants for the swap. This year, we were especially fortunate to receive a very generous donation of plants from the Bristol Lions Club—what a wonderful contribution!

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to seeing you again next year, and we hope you’ll keep us updated on how your new plants are growing.

It's tomorrow at 10am! Join our Annual Plant Swap and Tree Planting program!🌳

Together with The Grundy Museum, we are hosting our fourth Annual Plant Swap tomorrow, April 25, 2026, from 10am to 1pm!

🌳 Kick-off the Plant Swap on the Grundy Campus at 10am when we will be planting a new tree, planted by the Bristol Borough Tree Tenders, as led by Jason Renard, Robin Butrey, and Donna McCloskey.

🪴 Bring your potted garden seedlings, houseplants, and outdoor plants to share. Plant donations can be dropped off at the Library today, April 24th from 10am to 4pm; donations will also be accepted on the day of the event.

Donating plants is encouraged but not required to participate in the swap.

Horticulturalists and representatives from Penn State Master Gardeners of Bucks County and Garden Club of Bristol Borough will be on-site to answer your plant questions. Representatives from Heritage Conservancy will also be on-site to share information and resources.

This Earth Day, we celebrate the beauty of the Grundy gardens and the Riverfront Park.

From the champion sycamore trees with their sweeping canopies to the thoughtful tree and flower plantings across our gardens, every corner reflects a commitment to caring for the environment. These efforts help preserve the landscape along the Delaware River and support a healthier future for our community.

Don't forget to join in our Plant Swap event on this Saturday, April 25, at 10am, organized together with Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library. We will start the event with a Tree Planting program at 10am. Please do join us!

Experience the social whirl of the Gilded Age through an interactive program recreating an evening’s home entertainment in the year 1892.

Conversation, music, and gentle amusements will fill the room as you practice your best Victorian etiquette.

A brief tour of the museum will follow with an emphasis on objects related to entertainment.

The Grundy Museum cordially invites you to its Annual Tea, an afternoon of Victorian elegance set along the beautiful Delaware River.

Join us on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 1pm, and enjoy a delicious assortment of savory and sweet delights!

Gaze at the scenic views of the river, the lush gardens, and the architectural splendor of the Grundy mansion from the Veranda and South Lawn.

Don your finest tea attire and, while not required, prizes shall be awarded for Best Hat and Best Dressed!

Part of our America 250 celebration, the event will support the Museum’s education programs, which connect past and present through the story of the Grundy Family and their enduring impact on Bristol Borough.

Choose between Veranda seating, offering wait service and an elevated tea experience, or South Lawn seating beneath the tent with buffet service. Tickets start at $75.
