A couple weeks ago we had event that was an excellent celebration for America's 250th Anniversary.
The Museum hosted the Sons and the Daughters of the Revolution as they shared their stories as an acestor.
Rooks County Historical Museum is also the regular meeting spot for the Sons chapter and we look forward to hosting them in the future!

We are excited to announce that Professor Hollie Marquess will be joining as a speaker for this event! Hollie is near and dear to us because she was last year's inaugural recipient of the Dr. Leo Oliva Distinguished Professor of History.
This professorship honors Oliva’s legacy of transformative teaching and mentorship. An emeritus FHSU professor and historian, Oliva, who graduated from FHSU, earned a master’s degree in American history and a doctorate in American Studies at the University of Denver. He is the author of several books and many articles about Kansas and the frontier West, and he edited the Santa Fe Trail Association’s quarterly journal, Wagon Tracks, for 25 years.

💄✨Glow Up of 2026 ✨ 💄

Center Stage as you drive North or South on 183 you will be able to enjoy our new museum sign.

The grants for the sign came from The Hansen Foundation, Heartland Community Foundation, Midwest Energy and The Rooks County Economic Development Storefront/Signage Program. Thank you Rick for all the hard work grant writing! Reds DirtWork LLC cleared the location and the sign’s design and construction was the work of Mark’s Custom Signs located in Great Bend, Kansas.
