Just off my drawing board is a piece inspired by my favorite local beach. I decided to insert a couple of old Adirondack chairs, with the weathered edges catching a little of the morning sun, the gull being the only one to observe the moment in time.

This pretty girl's name is "Mayhem". Like my cats, she loves to sleep in boxes, although this one really does look pretty comfortable.

Here's my take on wild horses cooling off in the surf. I like the way the light browns and yellows play off of the different blues of the water and sky that surround them. A wave in the background makes its way toward the horses and creates a border between the sky and sea.

I feel so fortunate to live in a region where we have breeds of wild horses, both the Chincoteague Ponies and the Wild Colonial Spanish Mustangs in Corolla!
I've been several times to Corolla to enjoy the horses cooling off by the surf. One of my favorite outings was boating to see and capture photos of the Chincoteague Ponies that live on Assateague Island. Here are a few pictures I've taken of the Chincoteague Ponies.
It's finally time to create a drawing that features this surprising coastal animal. Check back in soon when I reveal my newest wildlife art!

I just finished this piece of an enamored squirrel when he stumbles upon his perfect acorn- presented to him on a woodland platter.
I truly loved creating this drawing and the finished product puts a big smile on my face!

Just got back on a red eye from a great trip to Arizona, so I haven't been in the studio for a week or so. With the lack of new art, I thought I'd post some progress shots of my last piece, "P**f".
