International House serves students and scholars of the University of Chicago community as well as the greater Chicago community with a wide array of programs. Over 150 public programs are held each year at International House. Last week, International House welcomed a full room for Conflict for Common Good: An Interfaith Inquiry into Religion & Power, an evening centered on how faith traditions grapple with power, responsibility, and the common good.

Guests heard from David French, Rabbi Rachel Mikva, and Ahmed Rehab, with moderation by Megan Whitaker. Their conversation invited reflection on religion’s role in shaping society, and how dialogue across difference can move us forward.
